Donnell F. Dietrich

Donnell Frederick “Fred” Dietrich was born August 15, 1938 in St. Louis a son to Donnell Byrd and Alice (nee Reinemer) Dietrich. He passed peacefully on April 9, 2024 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 85. He is survived by three sons: Jake (Denise) Dietrich, Hillsboro; John (Lisa Bolzenius) Dietrich, Arnold and Doug (Kirsten) Dietrich, University City and four grandchildren: Rebekah, Henry, Alicen, and George. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rebekah Huffman Dietrich, and his brother Wm. Robert “Bob” (Sandy) Dietrich. A 1956 graduate of De Soto High School, a 1959 graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and a 1960 graduate of Westminster College he owned and operated the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto until his retirement in 2005. He served in the Missouri National Guard and was a life member of AmVets Post #48. Fred was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, De Soto Lodge #119 A.F. and A.M., a charter member of the De Soto Park Board, a volunteer with De Soto Little League, was a founding member of Families of Calvary Cemetery, served on the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Parish Council and had held many positions while serving on the Board of Directors of Jefferson Memorial Hospital including Chairman. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
