Helen G. Axley, 87, of De Soto died September 22, 2023 at Mercy Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Axley was a homemaker, worked in sales and customer service through the years. She loved time with family, sewing, counter cross stich, watching sports, bowling, crossword puzzles and sitting by the fireplace when it snowed. Born in rural De Soto February 3, 1936, she was the daughter of George and Minnie Murphy. She is survived by four children, Lynn (Dennis) McFarland of Kentucky, Stan (Kaye) Axley of De Soto, Lisa (Eddie) Boyer of De Soto, Amy (Nick) Williams, Bethalto, IL; 8 grandchildren: Sherida, Adam, Brent, Jason, Clint, Toni, Sonya, Vinny; 11 great-grandchildren: Lillian, Eli, Levi, Brynn, Rory, Samantha, Hailey, Desiree, Cody, Chloe, Lyla, and many other beloved extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Axley; 2 children: Randy, Ricky and 6 siblings. | |
