Marvin Wayne Jinkerson was born May 16, 1934 in Washington County, Missouri, the son of Ivan Cecil Jinkerson and Dorothy Ann (Turner) Jinkerson. He passed to the loving arms of Jesus, on July 15, 2021 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Festus, Missouri at the age of 87. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Maxine Spry Jinkerson and one sister Betty Lou Bratten. Marvin is survived by his children: David (Mary) Jinkerson, Pamela (the late Steven) Pigg, Melanie (Richard) Goldstein, Timothy (Kimberly) Jinkerson; grandchildren: Sean-Patrick Jinkerson, Richie Jinkerson, Natalie Pigg (Corey Dodson), Laura (James) Williams, Annamarie Goldstein (John McCormick), Neil Goldstein; sisters: Millie Fryman, Patricia Masson, Carolyn Jane (Bob) Britton, Glenda (Charles) Smith; several nieces and nephews; step-children: Donine (Bernie) Schwartz; Mark (Sharon) Wintermute, Charles (Susan) Wintermute, Bradford (Deborah) Wintermute; step-grandchildren: Michael, Justin, and Marcus Wintermute, Kirstin (Daniel) Lamers, Alyssa, Danielle and Jack Wintermute, Tyler, Dylan, and Ashley Wintermute. Marvin never met a stranger and loved talking about the railroad and meeting his retired buddies at Hardees and McDonald’s for breakfast. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad, a past member of the DeSoto Park Board, a member of the DeSoto Masonic Lodge, the DeSoto Railroad Employees’ Memorial Board, and St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church.
