Rev. Waverly Weaver, Jr. was born in Palestine, AR on July 2, 1931 a son to Della (nee Tomlin) and Waverly Weaver, Sr. He went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2019 at his De Soto home at the age of 88. He is survived by his children: Julie Weaver, Henderson, NV, Phillip (Margaret) Weaver, Paducah, KY, Mark (Sharon) Weaver, De Soto, Kevin (Susan) Weaver, De Soto, Patrick (Deborah) Weaver, De Soto, and Clarence Mason, De Soto, his grandchildren: Michael Mason, Brian Mason, Victor Cage, Edward Cage, Marcel Cage, Elliot Weaver, Nathan Weaver, Audrey Weaver, Tajuana Cherry, James Cherry, Adrienne Cadmey, Aurielle Weaver, Joshua Stokes, Jessica Weaver, Alexis Weaver, P.J. Weaver, Emma Weaver and Marcella Weaver; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; three sisters: Hattie Tomlin, Palestine, AR, Mozella Smith, St. Louis, and Della Mae Weaver-Ingram, Chicago; and two brothers: Robert Weaver, St. Louis and A.J. Weaver, St. Louis. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marcella “Micky” (nee Vaughn) Weaver; two sons: Steven Weaver and Edward Mason; and two brothers: Eugene Weaver and Cleveland Weaver. Rev. Weaver was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, had worked at Scullin Steel and for and retired from the De Soto Public School District. He also served a minister for several St. Louis area churches and was a member of Samuel Brown Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. |
