Floyd L. Wallen was born in Chloride, MO on June 18, 1927 a son to Floyd A. and Violet M. (nee Miller) Wallen. He died on November 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife Ruth (nee Coffman) Wallen of De Soto; one son James Wallen, De Soto; two grandsons Andrew and Kyle Wallen; and a half brother: George Wallen, Otto; he is is preceded in death by his parents; his step father: Richard “Dick” Tackett; one son: Steve Wallen; and one sister: Patricia Dallas. Floyd served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired as a carman from the Union Pacific Railroad, was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America, and a member and Deacon Emeritus of the First Baptist Church-De Soto.
