Walter Glenwood Berry was born on October 4, 1939 in Victoria, MO. He was the son of Earl and Lola Tempa (nee Hubbard) Berry. He died on April 29, 2023 at his De Soto home at the age of 83.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (nee Zoph) Berry of De Soto; two sons: Glenn Allen (Robin Peterein) Berry of De Soto and Scott Berry of Festus; two brothers: William “Bill” (Rita) Berry of Paragould, AR and Rich (Barbara) Berry of De Soto; grandchildren, Shelby (Levi Allen) Berry, Taleasa (Bruce) Faris, Casey Rhodes, and Claira Rhodes.
Preceded in death by one daughter Patty Rhodes; one grandson, Cheston Rhodes whose wife Kaitlin lives in De Soto; and three sisters: Earline Johnston-Long and her first husband Timon Johnston and her second husband David Long, Alta Filkins and her husband Derrick Filkins and Bertha “Bert” Hoyt.
Walter served in the Missouri National Guard and was a member of the De Soto Community Church of God. He retired from Berry Auto Parts and owned and operated Berry Machine and Welding
