Verta Mae Denny was born on September 5, 1937 in De Soto, Missouri,  She was the daughter of Reed & Della (nee Graham) Tenney.  She died on September 6, 2023 at the age of 86.

Verta is survived by her daughter, Candace (Tom) Henningsen of Byrnes Mill, MO; and two grandchildren, Emily and Jacob.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oscar P. Denny, and one brother, Nelson Reed Tenney.
