Ronald Travis Burgett was born April 2, 1947 in Blytheville, AR. He was the son of W. Travis and Mary Lee (nee Swift) Burgett. He passed on October 23, 2020 in Topeka, KS at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his wife, Linda (nee Fitzsimmons) Burgett, Buffalo; children, Ronald T. (Gidget) Burgett, Jr., Buffalo, MO; and Tammy (James) Adams, Topeka, KS; three grandchildren, Reece Adams, Faith Burgett, and Riley Adams; three step-grandchildren, Kegan Jones, Shelana Jones, and Jaylon Jones; two step great-grandchildren, Wesley Harris and Meika Rausa; two sisters, Peggy Vancil and Carla Cole; and one brother, Steve Burgett. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Danny Burgett. Ron worked as a St. Louis City Police Officer, then as a Police Officer for Woodson Terrace where he was awarded Officer of the Year. He then worked for the De Soto Police Department and retired as Police Chief of the Hillsboro Police Department. Ron served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War; served on the Board of Directors of Valle Ambulance District; and was a member of St. Louis Missouri Lodge #1 A.F. & A.M.
