- Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 4-8 PM at the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home
- Mass will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 10:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 504 S. 3rd St., De Soto
- Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery
Philip Michael Stanton, Jr. was born on November 3, 1925 in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Philip, Sr. and Margaret (nee McMahan) Stanton. He died on August 30, 2020 at his residence in De Soto, MO at the age of 94.
He is survived by his children, Philip (Debbie) Stanton, III of Colorado Springs, CO and Deborah Stanton Lipe of Festus, MO; grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Helen, and Matt; great grandchildren, Zach, Skyler, Trevynne, Chase, and Drew; and great-great grandchildren Sage and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Mildred L. (nee Calvert) Stanton; and siblings, John “Red” Stanton, Thomas Stanton, Kathleen Boeger, Mary Osborn, and Ann Doyle.
Philip was a retired truck driver for Truckline. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy; a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, VFW Post 1831 & 3777, AmVets Post 48, American Legion Post 253, and BPO Elks 689.
