Patrick J. Downs, Sr., was born October 15, 1935, in Roselle, MO; a son to the late Rufus and Elizabeth (nee Zoleman) Downs. He passed away October 1, 2010, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, MO, at the age of 74 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rita (nee Petsch) Downs; a son, Patrick (wife Pam) Downs and a daughter, Kaye (Stan) Axley, both of De Soto; a brother, Francis Downs of Florissant, MO; and a sister, Gladys Morris, of Litchfield, IL; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers: Howard Downs and Herbert Downs, and sisters: Lena Hicks, Wilma Puckett, Bettie Hammon, Glenda Schoettle, Marie Hopkins, and infant sister, Doris Downs.
Mr. Downs was a self-employed contract mail carrier.
