Norman Lee “Butch” Harness was born on November 7, 1949 in De Soto, MO.  He was the son of Lester Harness, Jr. and Pauline (nee Mallery) Harness.  He died on January 25, 2025 at his home in Herculaneum, MO at the age of 75.

Butch is survived by his wife, Linda S. (nee Portell) Harness of  Herculaneum; his children, Doug (Gena) Harness of Fenton, MO; and Danny (Rachel) Harness; and a step-daughter, Holly (Randall) Stringfield of Herculaneum; grandchildren, Ryann, Quinn, Kendall, Karsynn, Tyler, Brody, Reese, Ashton, Lili and Elaynah; his siblings, Ken Harness, Bonne Terre, Lester Harness III, De Soto and Renee (Dennis Carr) Harness, Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Margaret “Babe”(nee Pashia) Harness; and one brother, Paul “Mike” Pashia.

Butch had retired as a Supervisor for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDot) and served in the United States Army.  He was a Life Member of B.P.O E #689. Butch was also an avid golfer who would organize and schedule golf outings with his fellow golfers. Butch was a good man, husband and grandfather. He was also very involved in his grandchildren’s activities.
