Nevada Mae Slemmer Wilson was born in Yount on May 16, 1936 a daughter to Marcus and Bertha (nee French) Kennon. She died at her De Soto home on February 9, 2020 at the age of 83. She is survived by two children: Angela “Angie” (James) Merseal, De Soto and Gary D. (Alicia) Slemmer, Jr., Farmington; three grandchildren: Lisa (Scott) Robinson, Billy (Jennifer) Tidwell, and Jeremy Tidwell; her great-grandchildren: Brooke, Krystin, Marissa, Gillian, Lukas, Abel, Audrey, Makinna, Kyle, and Quentin; and a step-daughter Holly Clark of Park Hills and her family; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Gary D. Slemmer, Sr. and Charles D. Wilson; two daughters: Cheri Slemmer and Sonja Rockfield; a grandson: Paxton Slemmer and two brothers: Alvin Kennon and Roger Kennon. Nevada had worked at De Soto Wal-Mart and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, De Soto.
