Margie Josephine Long was born October 15, 1923 in Benjamin, MO. She was the daughter of Eugene George and Josephine Cecelia (nee Marcus) Raleigh. She passed on December 31, 2017 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Festus, MO at the age of 94 years. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Ann (Richard) Slight, Quincy, IL; two sons, Clyde Wayne (Annalee) Long, Hillsboro, MO; and Paul Wesley (Christine) Long, De Soto, MO; two sisters, Lucille Lippa, Quincy, IL; and Donna Berhorst, Canton, MO; one sister-in-law, Sue Raleigh, Fredericksburg, TX; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; thirteen step-great grandchildren; four great-great step grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde H. Long whom she married on January 14, 1948, in Queen of Peace Church, Ewing, MO; two sisters, Mary Allison and Isabelle Raleigh; and one brother, George Raleigh. Margie graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Keokuk, IA in 1944 and worked in nursing in different states where they lived. She worked for the Jefferson County Health Department from 1967 to 1984. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella since June of 1945; and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
