Mr. Kenneth Eugene (Kenny) Dowe I. was born March 17, 1937 in Boonville, Missouri, the son of William Hurt Dowe Sr. and Lucinda Ann Duncan Dowe, who both preceded him in death. He graduated from Sumner High School in Boonville, Missouri and attended two years at the University of Missouri, Columbia, majoring in music. He had a passion and love for all music, his favorite, being Country and Western. Kenny honorably served his country by serving in the United States Air Force from 1960-1966; two of those years being in the United States Air Force Reserves. Kenny met and married his soul mate, Darlene Blanks Gray in Boonville, Missouri; they were married on May 18, 1966. Upon moving to Jefferson County, Kenny was employed by Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, Missouri for 37 years, and from where he retired in 2002. He held several capacities at Chrysler; his last being a “Test Car Driver.”

Kenny, who was 87 years young, peacefully departed this life, at his home in DeSoto, Missouri on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 8:27 p.m. Besides his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Darlene Elizabeth Dowe; who passed away on June 16, 2013. One sister, Blanche, (husband, Henry Davis,) three brothers, William (Jack) Dowe, Howard Dowe (Sharon survives) and Wilbur Dowe (Pam survives.) His in-laws, Ward and Deloris Hester Blanks, brother in laws, Donald Blanks, (wife Mary Carter Haynes,) Donald Bingham (Peggy survives,) sister in law, Evelyn (husband Ernest) Cook.

Kenny was a big sports fan, his favorite being football. His all time favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Kenny loved nature; he was an avid bird watcher. He loved and cared for his gold fish; in his backyard pond. Kenny loved his Budweiser beer, and he never met a stranger. People would always know it was Kenny coming, by his car license plates that read (GREAT-LIFE) Kenny loved people and he loved life; and that was the motto he lived by.

Kenny leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Kenneth E. (Kenny) Dowe II. wife, Jessica (Leonard) Dowe of Kansas City, Missouri, Karl L. (Squeak) Gray Sr. of Beckley, West Virginia, and one daughter, Vanessa D. Dowe of DeSoto, Missouri. Eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
