John Vincent Nephew, Sr. was born January 22, 1927 in Vineland a son to John N. and Estella (nee Pickett) Nephew. He died on October 28, 2016 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson at the age of 89. He is survived by two sons: Chris (Heather) Nephew, Herculaneum and Mike (Carrie) Nephew, Herculaneum; five grandchildren: John V. Nephew, III, Rhandilynn Nephew, Michael Nephew, II, LCpl Austin Nephew, and LCpl Brandon Nephew, one great-grandchild: Pippa Chey Nephew; a daughter-in-law: Victoria Nephew, Fenton; and seven siblings: Jim (Philamae) Nephew, Danny Nephew, Jean (the late Robert “Chalk Eye”) Hobson, Marie Davis, Pat Nephew, Dorothy Gash, and Alice Isaacs. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Iris E. (nee Blake) Nephew; one son: John V. Nephew, Jr.; one sister: Margie Chapman and one brother: Billy Nephew. John served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a construction laborer for Woermann Construction Company and liked OLD and classic cars and researching family history.
