John B. Elders, 85, native of Corning, AR, presently resided in rural De Soto with his wife Margie (nee Isgrigg) Elders died November 6, 2020 at his home.
John was a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church-De Soto where he had worked in the Teen Department, served as a Trustee and a Usher. He was an example of a man of faith and a real gentleman.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years Margie; one son Robert (Trena) Elders, Sr., Granite City, IL; his two step sons Chip (Liz) Johnston, Valles Mines and Richard “Rick” (Marty) Johnston, Valles Mines who referred to John as “Pop”; step daughter Sherri (Greg) Besore, Festus; his grandchildren: Wes (Stef) and Colby Besore, Amanda (J. J.) Johnson, Jamie (Darin) Clubbs, Chad Johnston, Lauren Kenuam, Austin Brandon, Callie Dennis, David (Jamie) Nothstine, Jennifer Montgomery, and Robert Elders, Jr.: several great grandchildren; two brothers: Donald (Judy) Elders, Granite City, IL  and Paul (Judy) Elders, Scott City; and one sister Wanda (Bob) Creasey, Wentzville. He was preceded in death by his parents: Luther and Yulas (nee Pollard) Elders; a daughter Deborah Thompson and her husband Joe; four brothers; Loren, Jake, Jimmy, and Junior Elders and two sisters; Jestina Robison and Beaulah Whartenby.
John had retired from working in the Receiving Department at White-Rodgers then worked for twelve years at Wease Distributing.
