JoAnn Johnston was born in Herculaneum on March 10, 1941 a daughter to George and Grace (nee Cook) Portell. She died on February 11, 2024 in Farmington at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband LeRoy Johnston, Farmington; her daughter Wendy (Terry) Snow, Farmington; her son Geoff (Kathy) Johnston, De Soto; two grandchildren Michael (Rachel) Johnston, St. Louis and Tyler Hebert, Terre Du Lac; one great granddaughter Presley and a brother George “Ike” Portell. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Linda Lee Johnston and two brothers: Gary Portell and Rick Portell. Formerly of De Soto JoAnn had work at the Dari-ette then worked as a machine operator for W. K. Manufacturing and Haacke Manufacturing. Upon retirement her and LeRoy moved to Terre Du Lac where they lived for 18 years.
