Dearest Julie and Family I am brokenhearted by this loss. Even though I could not be there with you in person, we watched the webcast of the service. The children singing Jesus Loves Me says it all about your family. Wags was loved, respected and admired by every single person whose life he touched. Be assured that hundreds of people are praying for you...and that we will see him again. Love to you all. Barb

I could not have known better people than the Wagners. Howard was a great politician, but an excellent statesman, first and foremost. He always sincerely wanted to better Jefferson County and serve its citizens. If he gave you his word on something, it was as good as gold! When I was about 16 years old, I remember campaigning with Howard for a County "Judge" position at Queen's market in DeSoto. Wes and Aaron were there with their Dad, and Wes was around 9 years old! Howard helped me get my first job with Eleanor Koch Rehm working elections! And then I worked for Wes for 10 years when he was County Clerk. Life comes full circle. Julie, Wes, Aaron and Megan, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Rest in peace, dear friend, until we meet again. Paige

Howard was his own person, who was concerned about others and always there for them. His smile and laughter was infectious. He always called me "never work". He will be missed. Prayers to the entire family.
