Gerald Ray “Jerry” McCurdy was born April 2, 1934 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of Verna “Ray” and Mary Isabelle (nee Bakewell) McCurdy. He died on August 23, 2019 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis County, MO at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his wife, Joan (nee Bequette) McCurdy, De Soto, MO; daughter, Karen Marie McCurdy, Statesboro, GA; son, Karl Ray McCurdy, Bowling Green, MO; former daughter-in-law, Cherie McCurdy; and former son-in-law, Ron Wright; sister, Bev (David) Ringling, De Soto, MO; brother, Tom (Ann) McCurdy, Florissant, MO; brother-in-law, Cleo Pigg, De Soto, MO; grandchildren, Gennevieve Wright and Douglas (Amy) McCurdy; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Adalyn, and Carter; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Fern Pigg; and one brother, Doug McCurdy. Jerry served in the U.S. Army and he was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1185.
