George L. Crider was born on July 28, 1940, in Paragould, AR, a son to the late Clyde and Willie Lorine (McGarity) Crider. and passed away at the age of 84 on August 14, 2024 at his home in De Soto, MO, after a long battle with cancer.

George is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy L. (Dressendofer) Crider, whom he married on December 24, 1963.  He is also survived by two sons, Tony (Debbie) Crider and Kevin (Kayla) Crider; five grandsons, Dustin (Autumn) Crider, Dylan (Makenzie) Crider, Lukas Crider, Hank (Danielle) Elder, Colton (Kelsey) Elder; one granddaughter, Amber Curnel; 10 great-grandchildren, Addison, Kennedy, Marshall, Lyla, Ariel, Wyatt, Jaxson, Kaden, Gracelynn and Waylon; a brother, Sammy Crider; a sister, Barbara (Howard) Landers, sister-in-law, Marilyn Crider, sister-in-law Jone Lentz, brother-in-law & sister-in-law Ernie and Mary Dressendofer; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Sonny (Maxine) Crider, Howard (Marcy) Crider, Mike (Linda) Crider, Johnny Crider, Jimmy (Joanne) Crider, Winston Crider; two sisters, Betty Crider and Tamara Crider; a brother-in-law Bernie Lentz; and his mother-in-law Juanita (Leonard) Dressendofer Batts.

George was a retired union iron worker with Local 396 for over 35 years, a veteran of the United States Army, a 40-year member of the Elks, and a former Mayor of Olympian Village.  George loved country music and played lead guitar and sang in several bands over the years.

George was a dedicated family man and loved spending his time with them and his friends.

He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
