Ellen Maxine Acord was born January 23, 1942 in Valles Mines, MO. She was the daughter of David Turner Haverstick and Gladys (nee Robinson) Haverstick. She died on December 5, 2021 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson at the age of 79 years. She is survived by her children, Ellen (Mark) Akins, De Soto, MO; Michele (Tim) Ahlers, Festus, MO; and Marleisa (Gabe) Amsden, Crystal City, MO; grandchildren, James (Stephanie) Akins, Jordan Akins, Cody (Zoe) Dierkes, Colin Dierkes, Preston Amsden, and Molly Amsden; and two great grandchildren on the way; siblings, Vera (Gary) Adams, Lenexa, KS and David (Jeannie) Haverstick, Clemmons, NC. She is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Haverstick; husband, James S. Acord; son-in-law, Dennis Dierkes; three sisters, Mary Viola (Richard “Dick”) Fischer, Elsie (Ed) Winter, and G. Barbara (Don) Beckham. Maxine retired from the Jefferson County Auditor’s Office and was a member of the First Baptist Church-De Soto. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 2000 Grace Way, De Soto, MO 63020.
