Edith Irene Davis was born in Valles Mines on September 12, 1938 a daughter to John Thomas and Myrtle (Henroid) Burns.  She died at her De Soto home on August 25, 2023 at the age of 84.  She is survived by three children: Janet (Clifford Wilson) Hill, Cadet,  Wm. Dale (Angie) Davis, Sr., De Soto and Gary (Linda Hocker) Davis, De Soto; grandchildren: Bradley (Amanda Taylor) Clark, Jr., Glen (Felicia Dobbs) Clark, Heather (Brian) Pogue, William “Billy” Davis, Jr., Gilisa Portell, Tasha Dean, Shawn (Tammy) Hill, Robert (Sheryl) Pinson, Jr., James (Brandy) Hogan, Jason (Jessica) Pruitte, Sr, Richard Nelson, II and James Nelson; numerous great grandchildren and  great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Davis; two daughters: Glenda Sue Clark and Cheryl K. (the late Richard, Sr.) Nelson; two grandsons Matt (Penny survives) Davis and Dale A. Davis; three sisters: Thelma Dorsey, Ruby Neibeker and Stella Korn Henson and five brothers Floyd Burns, Tom Burns, Stanley Burns, Earl Burns, and Lawrence Burns.
