Dolores Suzanne “Suzy” Allen, age 63 of Festus, Missouri passed on to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 21, 2017 at her home in the Festus countryside. Her relationship with God and fulfilling the purpose He had for her life meant more to her that anything else. She loved God with all her heart.
Born November 11, 1954, she had a rich and full life enjoying a palette full of life’s activities. Suzy was a homemaker all her life. She considered it a privilege and an honor to raise her five children to love and serve God. She home-schooled a total of twenty-four years. She loved farm life (gardening, animals, putting up hay), adventuring across all fifty states with her family, backpacking the entire Appalachian Trail (2,160) miles with her five children, writing and publishing a book, having many people visit and stay at her bed and breakfast ministry, and sponsoring and visiting children in Africa through New Life International and being a mama to Hellen and Elisha (her long term sponsored orphans in Tanzania).
She is survived by her husband, Curt Allen, and their five children. Her daughter, Sara (Philip) Falch, her daughter, Martha (John) Hilderbrand, her son, Jesse (Missee) Allen, her daughter Anne Allen, and son Casey (Lacie) Allen have been the joy of her life as are her nine grandchildren, Lane Falch, Troy Hilderbrand, Iestyn Allen, Lilyetta Hilderbrand, Aneirin Allen, Claire Allen, Emmett Hilderbrand, Audrey Allen, and Johnna Hilderbrand. She is survived by one sister, Sallie Altman, and also many dear and precious friends.
A memorial service and burial on her family’s farm will take place on December 22, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. With hope, joy, and peace in her heart during her journey through cancer, she has found everlasting life with God in heaven.
