Derry Lee Bowling was born June 29, 1955 in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Edward and Eva (nee Wallace) Bowling. He died on October 19, 2024 at his De Soto home at the age of 69 years. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sheila (nee White) Bowling, De Soto, MO; one son, Jason (Angie) Bowling, De Soto, MO and one daughter, Rachel (Justin) Faulkner, De Soto, MO; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; five sisters, Tonya (Ray) Bowling, Barbara (Danny) Hartleroud, Tamara (Mike) Dutton, Darlene (David) Keck, Renetta (Lonnie) Smith and two brothers, Gordon (Jean) Bowling and his twin brother Gary Bowling. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Beck and a sister-in-law, Lois Bowling. Derry was a 1973 graduate of Festus High School and also a graduate of Jefferson College. He served in the United States Air Force. He served as Pastor of Life Christian Church in De Soto for 33 years. Derry also worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Jefferson Barracks Hospital and at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. He also was a substitute teacher at Athena and Sunrise Schools. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to Life Christian Church, 3221 Fountain City Rd., De Soto, MO 63020.
