Dennis Ray Murphy was born in St. Louis on March 4, 1954. He died at his Festus home on March 6, 2021 at the age of 67. A 1972 graduate of Affton High School he served on the St. Louis County Police Department for 16 years. He then attended and graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as Pastor of Northern Oaks Chapel Baptist Church in Minnetonka. MN, Blackwell Baptist Church and most recently Luckey Baptist Church. Dennis had retired as a Community Coordinator for the Jefferson County Community Partnership where he helped develop Hammers for Hope. Dennis was also instrumental in the development of Jeffco Express. He served as Director of Alaska Field Operations for the Isaiah Connection and made several mission trips to Alaska. He is survived by his wife Kathy Murphy of Festus. Dennis and Kathy were married on April 26, 1975. Also surviving is his mother Leslie McKeever, St. Louis; his children: Matthew (Gretchen) Murphy, Grantwood Village, Christopher (Samantha) Murphy, Arnold and Kim (Larry) Bennett, Festus;  grandchildren: Connor Murphy, Molly Murphy, Emma Bennett, Madison Bennett, Lillian Bennett and Cody Bennett; three sisters: Mary (Randy) Martin, Sikeston, Diane (Tom) Fitzgerald, Affton and Kathy (Rick) Bigogno, Oakville and three brothers: Tim (Tamara) McKeever, Pevely, Paul (Shelley) McKeever, De Soto and Richard (Diane) Conner, Garfield, AR. He is preceded in death by his father Paul E. McKeever.
