Carol J. DeClue (nee Woodruff) of DeSoto, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 87 on Thursday, October 17, 2024. She was born on Tuesday, October 20, 1936 in Flat River, MO to Edward and Jeanette Woodruff (nee Barton). She married Thomas F. DeClue on January 28, 1952, she shared 63 year of marriage with him until his passing on February 6, 2014.
She is the beloved mother of Gary (the late Debbie) DeClue of Festus, Mark DeClue of Desoto, Robin (Steve) Short of Farmington and the late Thomas “Tommy” Michael DeClue and Colby (Patricia, survives) DeClue; loving grandmother of Steven (Tracie) DeClue of DeSoto, Diana (Brad) Martin of Hillsboro, Tonya (John) Spiker of DeSoto, Shannon (Brandon) Greenwood of California, Jacqueline (Josh) DeRousse of DeSoto, Katheryn (Jeremy) Moss of Festus, Myranda (Jake) Pruett of Fredericktown, Jacob (Kaylee Lucas) Marshall of Farmington, Martina (Seth) Wilbur DeClue of DeSoto and Stevi (Dylan) James of Kansas City. Dear great-grandmother of 23, great-great-grandmother of 4. Sister of John Woodruff of Potosi, MO, Mary Drage of Nebraska and the late Thomas Woodruff, Billy Woodruff, James Eddie Woodruff, Paul Woodruff, Norvel “Sonny” Woodruff, Sophia Woodruff, Melba Riggs, Patsy Vandergriff and Janet Minx. Our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, cousin and friend.
Carol loved her family dearly; she held a special place in her heart for all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and would pray for each of them daily. She had a strong faith. She and Tom were the owners of DeClue Septic and Excavating for 60 plus years.
